With this month so cold and snowy, all we can think about is the warmth of summer. With that thought in mind, we decided to share with you one of our favorite burgers. Our friend Daphne was kind enough to share with us her famous turkey burger recipe and we just can’t get enough. This Turkey Burger is a nice change up from the traditional beef burgers; especially since Krys and I tend not to have beef at home due to our lack of cows on the farm. This is a simple recipe for a quick and delicious meal but watch out it has a nice kick to it with the peppers.
Below are the ingredients to be mixed into one pound of ground turkey;
1-2 egg whites (depending on egg size)
1-2 tbsp. diced red onion
1-2 tbsp. diced fresh mushrooms
½ clove of garlic
2 tsp. habanero or other hot pepper
Salt and pepper to your liking
1 tbsp. bread crumbs.
Mix all this together into patties and cook in an oiled pan. We usually add yellow cheese the last minute of cooking for a nice melted layer, and then place on your bun with mayo, lettuce, tomatoe.
